Week 7 cat walk practical

So firstly i was inspired by Vogue Autum/ winter 2017 Mui Mui collection. What drew me to this collection first of all was the colour, everything is kept very simple making the colour stand out. many textures have been used from fur, cotton to sequins. I want to create four make up looks that fully represent this collection, because overall the make up is simple i am going to carry through 'less is more' element.

Analysis of collection and how I can implicate it into my design:

•The collection has a lot of soft textures e.g. fur, I can ensure the make up is really blended. because fur is a fluffy texture i will implicate this into by design by creating a fashion brow

•The collection consists of pops of colour and reminds me of the 60/70s era, there for this will determine the shades and tones i use

•there is a pvc jacket in one of the images, I could use clear lip gloss to reflect this

•lots of head wear so I could pile the hair up high or keep it sleek and pulled back

•classic theme going on (contrast)  

•accessories such as a diamond necklace has been used, I could use gems

•sunglasses have been used which I could use as a prop

•there is a lot of length within the clothing therefor for my 4 looks I will use eyelashes on lips, this is going to be my continuity throughout my 4 looks

Overall i am not happy with this look i created , i know cat walk make up can be kept really natural but i wanted to achieve a burnt out orange and not a wash colour therefor if i could do this again i would use a concealer as a base to make the colour pop, this would help withstand cat walk lights too. My lip would have been 100% perfected if i had used a liner to create sharpness (this is a focal point with catwalk make up). Because i am using lashes on the lips (for continuity purposes) this made my look suitable for catwalk as all of the designs represent the collection i have been inspired by. To master this lip look i feel i should have layered the lashes on top of each other so they were thicker and fuller because if i had done this you wouldn't be able to see through them, it also would of hidden the band better. I think i have achieved a suitable skin base for catwalk because it looks natural and even within tone.

tools you will need to glam up your own sunglasses:

Glue gun

Gems (silver and green)

feathers

old sun glasses

step by step:

step 1. begin by heating the hot glue gun

step 2. with the glue gun create a small line in the centre of the glasses and quickly press the silver gems on before it dry's

step 3. above the row you have created repeat step 2 until the centre is filled (like a stripe)

step 4. around the centre stripe apply glue and use green gems to decorate

step 5. turn the glasses over (inside). Apply glue and randomly place feathers near the edge so they spike up

Overall i prefer look 2 in comparison to look 1 as the colours are more vibrant. Cat walk make up has got to be seen from a distance so i took Look 1 evaluation into consideration. This look is a lot stronger than my first design because i have made use of accessories such as the sunglasses although i don't feel it goes with the autumn winter trend, so i decided to add warm winter textures, feathers to act as fur also Because the Mui Mui style is classic i chose to add gems. I could have used additional media with in the hair and incorporated pom poms a different way, if i could redo this i would like to pile the hair up high and pay attention to detail such as the lips.
